3CX Mobile App - Working Remote
Your phone system is capable of delivering calls to you,
when you want and
how you want. During normal operation calls will ring your desk phone. However, there are times you may want to answer work calls while on the go, or when working remotely. This can be accomplished by managing your "Status" via the 3CX mobile app. If you do not have the app installed on your IOS or Android device, you can email
support@844speakez.com for assistance. If you already have the app installed on your device, follow the steps below.
Open the 3CX app on your mobile device.
Tap the colored square in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Normally this is green, but it may be amber or red, depending on your current status.
3CX App Status ButtonIf you are in the office, and will be answering calls on your desk phone, set this status to "Available."
In this state, only your desk phone will ring.
Status - AvailableIf you desire to answer business calls when on the go, working remotely OR in the event of an internet outage at your office; set this status to "Remote". The exact verbiage may vary.
In this state, both your desk phone and the 3CX mobile app will ring.
Note: During an internet outage at your office, disconnect your mobile device from the office Wi-Fi so the 3CX app can connect to our servers over your cellular carriers' network.
Status - RemoteIt's important to understand that the 3CX mobile app will behave just as your desk phone does. This relates to how calls are routed to your extension as well as the "ring groups" and "call queues" of which you are a member. Outbound calls from the 3CX mobile app will present the same Caller ID that your desk phone does to people you are calling.
WARNING!!!
Dialing 911 from the 3CX mobile app will present the caller ID of your office to emergency responders. It is strongly recommended that you dial 911 only from your Cell Phone dialer, NOT the 3CX app.
